The Gathering Table Therapeutic Services
Come have a seat at the table
One hard part about therapy is people generally don't reach out until they need it. Unfortunately, I am currently operating with a waitlist. I do have people to whom I could refer you. Please reach out and we can discuss.
Treatment Focus
"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response." -Viktor Frankl
Maybe you find yourself in or with a history of difficult situations with limited or no control. Maybe you are faced with generational trauma and do not want to pass it to the next. Or maybe you are wanting to heal wounds. Maybe you are stuck in old habits (poor communication, difficulty with boundaries, isolation, ect) which are no longer serving you in the way you want them to do so. Our time together will bear witness of your situation to instill hope, develop coping skills, and identify a menu of ways to nurture the direction you want to direct the situation.
As a therapist (and human), I am behaviorally based and draw my therapeutic techniques with respect to the core values of social work, which include service, social justice, importance of human relationships, integrity, competency, dignity and worth of the person. At Mesa Waa Gii, I will use a buffet of theories and perspectives to support you in your own journey.
People need support at a variety of ages and for a multitude of reasons. Therapeutic rapport is a key component to ensure your goals in therapy are met. Please reach out and utilize the FREE 15 minute phone consultation to ensure we will be a good fit to collaborate.

Jamie M. Selby, LCSW
Mesa Waa Gii was created due to a gap in mental health services and providers at the local level. Jamie M. Selby, LCSW, is committed to providing the West Central Indiana area with the services needed for individuals of all ages and families.
People ask what does Mesa Waa Gii (MESA - wa - GEE) mean and where did you get that name? The name means The Gathering Table. I LOVE cooking. I am warmed by the idea of sitting at the table with someone you respect with a cup of tea (or coffee), and talking for hours. This is the experience I wish to evoke in our time together. I am part American Indian and took some liberty in spelling of the name.
I have an appreciation for people finding their own path. My work is a calling to support people on their own journey. Maybe that is depression, anxiety, life changing events, life stress.
When I am not in the clinical setting, I enjoy spending time on the creek in a kayak, traveling, cooking and spending time with family.

Billing & Payments
Insurance
I am now in-network for United Healthcare or UMR as well as Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
I also accept private pay.
Benefits of private pay include:
Increased privacy: Insurance requires certain information from your record in order to provide reimbursement.
Diagnosis is not required: Insurance requires a clinical diagnosis in order to approve treatment services. At times, we find that symptoms do not fall into a specific diagnosis or fall in an "unspecified" category, although treatment is beneficial for the person.
Treatment is not limited by issues or time constraints determined by the insurance company. This leads to increased collaboration in the therapeutic space as we decide what is best for you.
Decreased wait time to begin services. We do not have to run information through insurance and wait for approval. We are able to begin services right away.
